DIY Sugar Scrub

Sometimes the best beauty products are the ones we make ourselves. Our own Krin Madsen, Glow Lounge GM & spray tech extraordinaire, shared her favorite DIY body scrub recipe with us:

I like to make my own scrub at home using turbinado sugar, a natural oil (like coconut or olive oil), and fresh lemon juice.

In a bowl I mix 1/2 cup sugar with 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and the juice from a small lemon into a paste consistency. Once the ingredients are mixed together I apply a generous amount to the entire body except my face. I will work it into the skin and then rinse it off in a warm shower. Be careful, the shower might get slippery from the oil. Also, remember you'll want to do this the night before your tan to make sure the coconut oil has time to absorb into the skin.

Sometimes I make a bigger batch of the scrub and keep it in the fridge. It lasts about a 2 weeks in an air tight container.

Exfoliation is one of the most important steps in the spray tan process. Once you're all exfoliated, you'll be extra set for your next appointment. Book it here.
